Google had first introduced its artificial intelligence assistance on its messaging app called Allo, and was a standout feature on its Pixel phones, as well as Google Home. Now with the annual Consumer Electronics Show under way, the search giant has gone and unveiled it plans to make Google Assistant available on Android TV in coming months. With Google Assistant, one can use the Assistant enabled products with ease, where in the AI-bot would let users control all smart home products. With the power of Google Search and its capability to ask follow up questions, without repeating yourself, the Google Assistant fair ahead of its competition. After making an announcement of its availability on Android TV in coming months, users will now be able to say “OK Google”, by which one can play and watch anything without any hassles. According to Google blog post, ““As part of an upcoming update on supported TVs and set-top boxes powered by Android TV, you’ll be able to ask the Google Assistant for help so you can enjoy the content you love, faster than ever, on the best screen in your house”. It further points out saying, ““No more typing or struggling to get to what you’re looking for, just ask the Google Assistant for help and you’re off to the races.” Google also points out that using this feature, users will be able to run voice search to find their preferred shows. It will carry most of the same features that are available with the Assistance on the other devices and will let people control smart home products, run Google search and do so much more. For availability, the new integration will be available on all Android TV’s in US that run on Android v6.0 Marshmallow or Android v7.0 Nougat, including Nvidia’s Shield TV, which will be the first device to come with the true hands free Assistance experience. Other Android equipped televisions include Sony Bravia, Dish’s new AirTV player, Xiaomi Mi Box, Sharp Aquos, and more. The Assistant will come to all Android TV’s in a form of an update.
