Microsoft Band-2

Microsoft  is making it possible to login to your Windows 10 PC using the Microsoft Band and other smart wearables. The feature will become a part of Windows Hello, which is already making it easier to unlock your devices using things like facial recognition.
“As the devices will be part of Windows Hello, you’ll even be able to use them to make payments in the Windows Store or log into websites in Microsoft Edge,” explains The Verge.
Last month, it was revealed Microsoft is also looking to add fingerprint recognition to Windows 10 Mobile devices. The company is also said to be working on an Authenticator app that will allow those smartphones to unlock Windows 10 PCs.
Microsoft clearly recognizes that we all hate passwords, and helping us avoid them with simpler security mechanisms means users are much more likely to use protection on their PCs, rather than allowing anyone to login.
There’s no timeline for wearables support just yet, The Verge adds. It could come with Microsoft’s Windows 10 Anniversary Update this summer, but we’ll have to wait and see.
